VI. What We Want to Accomplish

• A broad-based coalition of trade unions, the informal sector, women and children advocacy groups, national and local government agencies, others, working on basic workers concerns.

• ILO core standards and codes of conduct as instruments for improving welfare.

• Increased awareness of workers’ rights and ILO core labor standards among the public, various groups, government agencies / implementers and the international financial institutions.

• Improved enforcement of labor laws and regulations, and adoption of policies and programs that promote workers rights and entitlements, including core labor standards.

• Government and international financial institutions adopting policies and programs that address workers’ concerns.

• New/amended legislation conforming to ILO Labor Conventions and Recommendations and broader UN instruments.
