- Selection through nomination by unions based on a set criteria
- Capacitated them

- Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights;
- Leadership Skills Training for YSRH;
- Basic Communication and Facilitation Skills;
- Basic Counseling on Sexual and Reproductive Health
- Roles of YAPEs:
- create or seize opportunities and serve as front line sources of correct and accurate information on RH for their co-workers;
- serve as plant-based YSRH advocates;
- act as mentors for other young workers and focal points between the youth and service providers
- perform basic counseling and referring of RH cases to the union-run Family Welfare Clinics and/or other service facilities;
- recruit FP acceptors among young married workers;
- assist RH Officers for the conduct of plant visits, and more importantly;
- facilitate ‘interactive RH discussion session’ (IDS).
